Community Outreach Ministry

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry ministers to the people who are in need in the church and those who are referred from the area agencies of the surrounding counties. The Pantry provides food boxes, used clothes, and a short church service on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Food is purchased at the Central PA. Food Bank for $ .10 to $ .18 per pound monthly or bi-monthly, depending on the number of families we serve. The food is given in a box about the size of a banana box, plus a bag of 3 or 4 frozen meats.

The people sign in as soon as they arrive and are given a coupon for next month, as well as an egg slip if we have eggs. We usually have coffee and donuts set out for those who come.

The order of the short service is:

Prayer, worship songs, testimonials and prayer requests. We pray with those in attendance, give announcements, and share with the people whatever the Lord places on the heart of the speaker, etc.

The bread ministry is every Wednesday from 9:00 AM—11:00 AM. Those who receive bread are asked to sign in and give their telephone number. Someone is there to fellowship or pray with them and directs them as to how much each one is allowed to take according to how much bread stuff comes from the Giant grocery store.

The telephone number for the Grace Chapel Food Pantry is
       717 . 944 . 5571.
